“Implementation Science” is an increasingly hot topic for those interested in understanding what it takes to close the gap between clinical evidence, and what we are doing to improve health and health care systems. "GHDonline and Health Systems Global (HSG) are teaming up to bring you an exciting Expert Panel on evaluation approaches to implementing health care improvements. “Implementation Science” is an increasingly hot topic for those interested in understanding what it takes to close the gap between clinical evidence, and what we are doing to improve health and health care systems. As systems-based approaches gain popularity, implementers, policy makers, and researchers are increasingly interested in ways to evaluate the effectiveness and findings of these interventions.
The Quality in Universal Health and Health Care Thematic Working Group (TWG) is organizing a series of events, beginning with a live webinar on January 25 at 7am EST following by a facilitated GHDonline discussion the week of January 25–29. We are hoping to engage health system policy makers, leaders, implementers, and researchers who are interested in evaluating health system interventions.
We’re pleased to welcome the following panelists for the webinar and facilitated discussion on GHDonline:
• Rohit Ramaswamy, UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health
• Lisa Hirschhorn, Harvard Medical School and Ariadne Labs
• Gareth Parry, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
The webinar will include a panel discussion moderated by Pierre Barker of IHI and UNC, chair of the Quality TWG. Following a case presentation on a hand hygiene project being implemented in sub-Saharan African hospitals, the panelists will discuss key evaluation issues. Spaces for the webinar are limited, so we encourage you to register now: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2287421063797641474
Following the webinar, GHDonline will host a week-long discussion facilitated by the panelists. A key evaluation question will be posed for discussion each day with daily synthesis and commentary of discussion from panelists. A recorded synthesis of the discussion and findings will be posted to the GHDonline and HSG communities following the week-long discussion.
We look forward to a rich discussion next week – please join the conversation and share your questions or comments!"
